| Frequently Asked Questions ~ What sets your company apart from other pet sitting companies? ~ Answer: Fuzzy Friends is owned and operated by a veterinary technician with over 12 years experience in the animal care industry. Your fuzzy companion is in excellent hands while you are away. All of our employees are Pet CPR & First Aid trained and have worked at a veterinary hospital for over 7 years. Your pets are not just treated like family, they are family. Here at Fuzzy Friends we do not believe in charging hidden fees for services such as key pick up/drop off, holidays, medication administration and last minute service. ~ Are you bonded and insured? What does that mean for me as a client? ~ Answer: Fuzzy Friends is fully bonded and insured, and is a proud member of Pet Sitter International. As a member of Pet Sitters international, the largest governing organization in the pet care industry, we are required to abide by the highest of standards. What it means to you, and all of our clients, is peace of mind. We take responsibility for your pets and possessions when you put them in our care. That means that your property and your pets are fully covered, should anything occur while in our care. Having these policies in place shows a level of professionalism and commitment that you can trust. ~ Do you meet the pets before service begins? ~ Answer: Yes, Fuzzy Friends Pet Sitting always schedules a Free In-Home Initial Consultation to determine what the exact needs of you and your pet will be. ~ What is the purpose of the Free In-Home Consultation? ~ Answer: We provide a free in-home consultation so you have the opportunity to meet with your new sitter and communicate any information necessary so we may provide the best care for your pets. It provides you with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have for your assigned pet sitter. ~ What can I expect at the Free In-Home Consultation? ~ Answer: Each consultation last about 60-90 minutes. At that time your pet sitter will present proof of bonding and insurance, a certificate of Membership to Pet Sitters International, and a Pet CPR & First Aid Training Certificate. During the consultation, the sitter will answer any questions you may have, go over your specific dates of service, provide you with an estimate for the cost of service, and have you fill out the required paperwork for our file. During this time we will also go over the specific instructions and locations of items we need to take great care of your fuzzy companion. ~ What do you require from me, the client, at the consultation? ~ Answer: Along with filling out the required paperwork, we require a 25% non-refundable non-transferable reservation fee payable with cash or check, and a set of TWO house keys. ~ Can I make last minute reservations? ~ Answer: Absolutely! As we like to say here at Fuzzy Friends, "We've got your tail covered". We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Fuzzy Friends does not charge an extra fee for last minute service. We understand that emergencies happen and we are always here to help. ~ How do you determine what time you'll pay visits to my pets? ~ Answer: Whether providing daily visits or dog walks to your pets, we strive to keep as close to your pet's routines as possible. When we meet for your initial consultation, please let us know all you can about your pet's normal activities, and we'll do our best to keep that schedule! ~ Will I be able to personalize the care for my pet? ~ Answer: Absolutely! This is the best defining feature of Fuzzy Friends. We follow your instructions exactly to guarantee your piece of mind while away. If your pet needs anything special at all, simply let us know and we'll be sure to carry it out. Our service work hours are broad and convenient so your pet will be able to go outside or have someone come "home" just as if you were there with minimal disturbance to their routine! ~ Who will be taking care of my pet when I am away? ~ Answer: Julie, Scottie, Eneri & Dawn are your Fuzzy Friends professionals. You can read about each of them and their unique qualities on our About Us page. You will meet the Pet Sitter assigned to you and your pet at the time of consultation. ~ Can I be assured I have the same Pet Sitter each time I need service? ~ Answer: We prefer to keep the same team member assigned to your account each time we provide you service. However, if that individual is not available, one of our other trained and informed professionals will be available for backup. ~ How can I be sure that my home and pets are safe while I am away? ~ Answer: You can rest assured that the team at Fuzzy Friends cares a great deal about the safety and security of your home and your companion. We are bonded and insured, and proud members of Pet Sitters International. We follow a Code of Ethics that represents the highest standards of ethical behavior and humane attitudes towards animals. Not mention the fact that we are pet owners and pet lovers ourselves! ~ What if there is an emergency with my pet while I am away? ~ Answer: Fuzzy Friends maintains up-to-date information on the 24-hour emergency animal hospitals in our service area. Before your departure your pet-sitter will prepare an information file on your dog which includes telephone numbers where you can be reached, the name of your Veterinarian, and notes on all other pertinent information that you would like us to know in case of an emergency. ~ What is your cancellation and early return policy? ~ Answer: Fuzzy Friends requires a 25% non-refundable non-transferable reservation fee at time of booking and/or consultation. Our pet sitting reservations are booked upon pet sitter availability, therefore reservation fees cannot be refunded. If a client returns home earlier than the date their service was scheduled to end the client will still be charged for all remaining dates that were scheduled. This policy is in effect to ensure that we adhere to our strict no over booking policy, which means we may turn away other clients to ensure your pet receives the care they deserve. |
